Good article. I never knew that most bison carry cattle genes. The fact that these pure bison don't have brucellosis makes me wonder if the cattle gene is what makes bison susceptible to brucellosis.

It would be nice to see the herds come back but it would probably cause the same problems as elephants in Africa. Farmers would not look kindly at 10 million bison descending on their corn fields. See the thread "If things went south-----"
