Bamboo backing II
« on: July 27, 2015, 02:53:43 pm »
I'm not going to do this but it crossed my mind enough to throw this out. Has anyone used thick CA to glue on a boo (or any) backing?  We use it to glue on tips so I don't think its strength is in question. Maybe brittle?  Not enough set-up time but maybe with the right method??
Just a question, don't take it too seriously ;) ;)

Once you glue one up you'll understand why this not a good idea. Unless MAYBE if you glued it up straight with no reflex. But who wants to do that! :)

From what I have seen with crazyglue is that it gets brittle when it dries so I wouldn't trust it in a bending limb

Pva glue gives more of a open glue time.i'd just get my hands all stuck to the bow!lol!

You need a glue that allows you time to strap/clamp it up etc.

OK I've done one(with epoxy) and I understand. If I'd used CA there wouldn't be enough acetone in the Western Hemisphere to separate me from that bow!!!
