Tiller board question & 1st tiller

My question is where do you place bow on the tiller board?  I would assume you would place the center of the grip over the center of the board.  When I placed my bow on my tiller board I could slide the string nearly anywhere I wanted to and make the appearance of the bow change.  Am I just looking for the arc of the bow at this point?

Here is a picture of my 1st tiller on the long string.  The bottom limb is on the right.

My advice may not be the best because I'm a beginner.  But I like to center the bow on the stick and keep the string centered also.  I only use the board to bring the bow to approximate brace height.  Then I move to the tiller tree.

That's the way I do it too only not with a T stick. pretty nice stave you got there.  You may want to  use a rope and pulley. There are buildalongs on my site that will take you through tillering. Jawge
