all bamboo bow project. Western style
« on: April 25, 2015, 01:09:57 am »
I want to try and make another western bow with bamboo belly, and back.  I think my usual riser pattern may be too extreme in curve.   I notice the riser blanks at 3 rivers are 17".   Is that normal?  Mine start as 10 but shrink as I build the bow.

Also. I'm wondering if bamboo will steam bend backwards to get the curve up the riser?

Saluki used to make this style. You can make the curve up to the riser with a dry heat using a heat gun.
