Archery terms

Somewhere in my archery history I saw a list of sayings that came from archery. A few examples are "the parting shot" and " the rule of thumb". Does anyone remember where it might be located, what book(s) it might be in or where I might look.
 If you know of any, please list them here.  Thanks

I had always heard that "Rule of thumb" meant that you could not beat your wife with a stick larger than your thumb.

It's most likely a history book. "Parting shot" actually comes from "Parthian shot", the practice of horse-borne Parthians to turn and around and loose an arrow as it appeared they were fleeing.

Bob, I know and have used at least most of those words but I was looking for other archery related phrases.
