I believe the papua new guinea bamboo slat bows were also made with the outside of the bamboo as the belly.  Seems counterintuitive to me, but Ashby guessed some of the bows weights at 70# or more.

Ted fry at raptor archery had all bamboo bow glue into an R/D.
Basically 2 bamboo slats glued back to back. Not sure how he tillered it

what type? how big? what state are yyou in?
I live in central IL, big enough to make a bow, not sure of type.

I have heard of using a slat from bamboo flooring for the belly. I have no idea what type of flooring. I had thought of two slats, but not using the backwards.
