Thanks everyone for the encouraging compliments!!  My head is starting to swell ;D

Greg, for the finishing touches I sanded her down starting with 120, 220, 300, then a wet sand with 600 and finally rubbed on about 6 coats of tongue oil.  I must admit I wasn't sure where I was going with her from the beginning I just tried to work slow and make the best of what I had to work with.  As you can see the stave was a little skinnier on the top limb as compared to the bottom limb.  When I finished the wet sand and put her on the scales I was psyched!!

Pat, thanks for the feedback and encouraging me to post the pics.  Now I know better how to edit pictures!!

Dana, I can't shoot with both sides YET!!  but I'm looking forward to trying it.  I tried to pull the string with the left hand and decided I needed to hit the weights :-[.  But then again I can just keep trying with the left until I finally get it; kinda like a bowflex workout  ;)

Tom and Hillbilly, I'm happy to see that simple and elegance still mean something.  That's all I wanted out of it and I think I must have achieved it!!  Funny enough, my next bow is going to be a simple D bow (I hope).

Danny, I'm gonna start on the next one after I finish my coffee and change 2 more diapers!!

Happy New Year everyone and thanks for all the great comments :)

You did a great job.  The next one will be a little easier.  Justin

That's a beauty - that stave looks a lot like one I'm working on - think I'll try to keep the knot like you did.  You're settin' the bar pretty high for the rookies......

That's a great job on your first bow! Especially on a stave with some knots and character in it. With your first being that good you're off to a great start, can't wait to see the next one.
