  I see you are from Nebraska, I used to hate Nebraska osage and wouldn't give a nickel for it. I was underbuilding my bows back then. I will take all I can get now.

Yeah, it grows about like a tumbleweed here.. criss crossing all over itself and twisted/snakey. Knots every 6 inches. Its everywhere, but it'd be a challenge in itself to find a stave worthy section. I've got my eyes on a few groups of hickory saplings that are 1.5 to 3" diameter and "look" really straight. We'll see!

Get away from the pyramid style and go with a more typical flatbow design. Pretty good work so far.
