Think this will make a bow someday?

I used to find what they call sea beans on the beach in the FL keys.
I never saw one sprouting after it's trip across the Atlantic to America.
So when I saw what looked a little like one of these pods down along
the Ohio River bank, I took notice. There was only a little showing so
 I dug it out.
Wow, now I am thinking a sprouting chestnut.
I found two and put them in my jacket pocket and later stashed them
in a coffee cup with dirt and water until I got them back to Virginia.
Here is the progress. One is doing good.
Members here are extremely astute and helpful. ;D
Any ideas?

Looks like a buckeye. Not good for bows.

I looked up Buckeye chestnut and learned something.

" basically horse chestnuts and buckeyes are as closely related to true chestnuts as bats are to giraffes" lol

As stated above--- You guys know your nuts.
Even though this one is not a chestnut  Wiki says the Buckeye
can make a nice ornamental shrub.
I guess I'll keep it. Thanks folks
