I feel like I stayed in the single growth ring, but I still got the splinter. I braced the bow and applied the super glue. Then I relieved the stress and brought the wood together. I let it dry some and when I looked it still looks like there is some elevation of the splinter, but I cannot see the crack. The splinter does feel secure though and not raising up anymore. I plan on using a sinew wrap to go over top and be the final patch.
