I'd pick elasticity over density. Yew is a case in point, and it's top bow wood.

It isn't that great for firewood either. Burns to fast but it does make lots of pops and crackles :D

rock, you can sinew back most anything and get a 'Bow' how well it functions is up to the shooter.
