chairity Auction bow
« on: February 14, 2013, 04:46:12 pm »
My Grandmother does a lot of charity work now that she is retired and about a year ago i promised i would build her a bow to put in one of her auctions. well she reminded me last weekend and said that they will need the bow by the end of march early April.

Here is my dilemma what specs (draw length, weight, design) should i make this bow too?

I have made bows for others before, but i have always been able to do some measurements.

Fifty at 28, its about the most common an universal. Just make sure you can go to 29 inches for safety and write on the bow it max draw length.
Tread softly and carry a bent stick.

I make all my donation bows the same. Osage. 65" ntn 50 @ 28. At that length you could yank it back to 30' and not hurt anything, or you can draw 25-26" and still get decent performance. Make it a tad wider than the norm.
Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.

Everyone knows drummers have really long arms!
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.
