Backed bow with paint questions
« on: September 08, 2013, 04:53:07 pm »
Hey guys! This time I'm not picking on ya ;) unfortunately. I had a osage stave with almost non existent separation between early and late growth rings. So I took it and flattened the back not following a growth ring. I was planning to make a bend in the handle bow that has the elb cross section. I need to back it with some sort of backing. Should I do rawhide, linen, or what? What glue should I use? And what paint would you paint the back with? Thanks!
