His Double-curved Bamboo Composite is Voted October Backed Bow of the Month

http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php/topic,3820.0.html
This is quite a bow:
This is one of Chris's double-curved bamboo-composits with a cross-section as in a japanese yumi.
the bow is 66" ntn, pulls 55#@28" and has a really high early draw-weight.
It's being shot with a fastflight flemish string.
I had a 55# blackwiddow-recurve guy shooting Chris' bow and he considdered this one "as fast but hidding harder" so I guess it"s a well deserved win!
The picture in the collage shows a sketch of this bow's cross section; wood and bamboo components of the core can be varied and will lead to different qualities in the bow. Even the amount of set the bow takes can be varied by choosing different woods.
The core components are tapered before glueing, so that the side stripes don't run out towards the tips.
The finished core is tapered; the bamboo is worked down to zero on the sides so it tapers also.
these bows get glued up using rope and wedges; that's the japanese way of doing that.
after glueing up, they are bend down over a bending jig to teach the limbs how to bend; no further tillering is done.

I just came from shooting the bow at the club for two hours straight; it shows two inches of reflex right after unbracing. - Frank (medicinewheel)
This is a sample of how impressed you are about this bow:
-"WHOA!!!   This bow is magnificent!! Your friend has done very well, great tiller and finish on that bow!" -Far East Archer
-"Incredible! Man I wish I can make one some day in the distant future."  a finnish native
-"Gawd!! Beautiful through and through - literally!!" - cowboy
-"Definately one of the nicest composites I have seen! A lot af talent and knowledge went into that bow. Also the pictures are very well taken, what a great job."-Jbell

A sweet bow.

I think the name of Chris is "Glauben" and not Galuben.
