Bow wood stats
« on: March 31, 2013, 12:21:19 pm »
Hi all,
Please allow me to pick your brains. Does anyone know where I can find facts about bow wood online? Specifically vine maple. The searches I have done are very limited in info and scattered around in bits and pieces. USDA is good, but I would like one that is focused on bow making. Any info would be helpful.
Thanks

Not sure about vine maple, but I use this site alot when trying to compare woods that are new to me with ones I have used before. It charts specific gravity, crushing strength, and elasticity among some stats. http://www.wood-database.com/wood-identification/
