Bark on ash...

Just wondering if anyone has made a bow from ash but left the bark on as a "backing"?

Ash bark doesn't have the right properties to be used as a backing. Bark backing should be added to a bow and only a few types of bark are appropiate for backing material.

I'm afraid that the bark would split across the limb and take the growth ring under it along for the short but nasty ride.  But since you will be doing it and not me, GO FOR IT, BUDDY!   >:D

Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.
