Scotch Broom?

Has anybody ever tried scotch broom for arrow shafts? I would think that it would be pretty decent shaft material, but I've never seen it used.

I've got some broom cut and sitting in the basement.  I've made a couple of arrows from it so far.  They made heavy shafts, but flew well.  Ron

I'll have to give it a try. I've got more access to that stuff than anything else. None of it's big enough to make a bow out of, but it's the perfect length and diameter for arrow shafts. I suspect that you can't beat broom for durability.
