There is a Federally recognized IRS approved genuine 501(c)3 non-profit organization that has the stated purpose of having the government start removing raptors so that songbirds can migrate without fear of getting eaten.  *sigh* 

Once upon a time his tribe woulda just let him get et by a lion and got it over with.  I am no longer so sure "civilization" was such a great leap forward.

Reminds me of the guy that lived with bears, video taped bears, was all about protecting them and then was eaten by them.

Also reminds me of the guy that was killed by the killer whale.  I guess no one saw that coming. You know a killer whale killing.

Didn't this guy also go on record claiming he'd give his life for these bears?   In his bucket list at the very end, ya think he added "owning something from Smith and Wesson"?

He was told to leave.   He got two bears killed when the bodies were recovered and he was was the first fatality from a bear attack in the area because of his actions. This was a tragic situation and we all should feel sad for the bears.   Why did the animal rights people not protest his actions.

Yup Patrick.  It's one thing to fear bad men but what's more frightful is the apathy of good men.  I'd hope the ranchers are looking into the appeal process possibilities if things don't go their way.  I'd imagine so.  Let's hope our justices are capable of handing it out using the best logic. ::)

It's funny how the animal rights lady wants to ship the animals back to their native countries.  I guess she prefers poachers killing the animals instead of hunters.  Either way, if they have economic value, they will be harvested.  The difference is that poachers do not care about managing a sustainable herd.

She should change her focus.
