green rhyolite is definitely butter compared to the morrow mountain stuff i worked. been planning on doing a susquehanna and this piece was perfect for it. small ones are mook and a piece of penn jasper. all raw. same technique i always use. hammerstone, horizontal punch, tine , ulna.

Jamie , just got back from Bald Eagle knap in an there is an older fella there that works on just Pa. Jasper. I can't believe how many color varations are in it. I never worked any Jasper but i sure do like the looks of it . Great set of points an all abo ;D ;DBob

thank you. the yellow in the mook definitely leaves hang nails easier than the rest of it. probably work better if i heat it. bob i love that penn jasper. one of these days i wanna heat it so it brings out the red. i also have two pieces that have blues in em. saving that stuff for a rainy day. =)

hey Jamie,
      Here's some pics for you.....Michigan Upper Penn., eh?   Right in the middle of downtown Ishpeming in Marquette County is an entire bald hill that is a solid piece of Jaspilite (banded hematite & jasper....the jasper here is bright red.
      Did know if ya ever heard of the place......enjoy the pics
