I'm new here,
and new to making arrows
was wondering if anyone had luck using spicebush for shafts,
I've been sizing some i harvested last winter.
they seem to slick up nice when pulled through a hole cut in bois d'arc

I have cut spice bush but never made shafts from it. Give it a try and report back with the results.
I have found that most shoot material will make arrows but some varieties are better than others. Only a trial run will tell.
