Im the same.  Sometimes I break every rock I touch.  Then sometimes I surprise myself with a point or blade. Hope everything comes together for ya.

knapp i like to call that "the funk"
i hate knappers funk
every rovk you hit you break, and not in the good way either
i usually give up for a few dyas and then start back
but i start back in with the pile of "who cares rock"
you know the stuff you dont care if you break cause you aint sure if thers a point in that piece or not
usually i suprise myself and find that point in it

no worries, just take a break for a bit and youll come out of it  ;)
i always wanted a harley, untill it became the "thing to ride"

as soon as i think its gettin easy i try to stop. thats when i start making mistakes. i'll crush an edge and just put the stone away. then when i come back to it. i'll have fresh eyes and be able to see what needs to be done. its when i dont stop myself that i turn a beautiful piece of rock into rubble.

Yep, been there.  Doesn't happen too much now...  I try to make one point a day and then quit.  On weekends I'll make more. It's not easy to quit while I'm ahead but that's what I've trained myself to do.  I always end a session in a positive way...  even if all I accomplish is sorting my rocks and flakes into neat little piles. ;D

Staying in practice every day has helped me quite a bit.  A lot of the process has become second nature now.

I seem to be in the funk now. Been messing with some odds and ends here at work this week and everything looks crude to me - too thick, symetry is off. Hmm, gonna go hit another ;).

I'm in a rut right now my self.
I have not made anything in a week. I have napped but never liked anything enough to finish it.
I need to bust out of it. :)

that at your skill level of kanpping that it still happens to you
if it can happen to the best, and yes you are one of them,
then it can damn sure happen to the rest of us and still be o.k.  ;D

I think your right Tracy - I've been in rut for a while, Hehheh ;D. That's a peice of perd, dacite and glass I found down here on the beach. I'm in flint country now - south of Austin. Think maybe I'll get all fired up - I hope :).
