Good woods for tip overlays

What are some good woods for tip overlays....ive been looking for something with strength that also looks good....any suggestions would be great...I like the looks of bocote but I dont know how it holds up

I used bloodwood, wenge, jatoba, ipé, prune, osage, ebony, greenheart, zebrano...

i use whatever wood i use in the riser to compiment.  unless your using a high performance string strength shouldn't be an issue or a really high draw weight bow.  antler is pretty strong and light.   got to have good mating surfaces though.  a buddy gave me a red stag antler shed and i have used that for many many bows.

I use whatever I think will look good with whatever wood, stain, leather, etc. i'm using. Most of the time though I end up using walnut, purpleheart, ebony, antler, or sonoran oak.

About anything will work as long as it's not really soft. I try to use something that either matches or contrasts with the rest of the bow. I've used walnut, osage, purpleheart, zebrawood, burl maple, padauk, desert ironwood, deer/elk/moose antler, buffalo and cow horn, and probably other stuff that I don't remember. The only thing I tried that seemed too soft was mahogany.

I have used many hard woods that I just thought would look good, But one of my favorite material is Cow Hoof.  Here is a couple of pics.  There are a few tricks to get the most out of a hoof let me know if I can help.

PS: I use all these woods withh FF flemsh strings with no problems.
