one arrow is a quarter of an inch shorter. problem?

im getting my hunting arrows ready (nice cherry, 31 and a half inch long) and uppon getting them sanded and taperd, one is about a quarter of an inch shorter than the other two. will this signifigantly affect the way it shoots?

Maybe not . Sometimes I make one shorter or longer to match weight and spine ........ So it may shoot better , have you weighed it ,and spined it ?

they are cherry shafting that a friend gave me. i aint got a scale, and they are spined 55-60 pounds. i threw fletches on a few a while back and put a 9 mm shell caseing on the end and it shot pretty good. so hopefully everything will work out. im gunna put 5 inch high crown bannana fletches on it, so that should make it fly straight.

I use 5 inch Shield Cut Feathers and I have hit my Target frame (Angle Iron)....this making it necessary to shorten these Arrows up to an Inch...and I have noticed none to very little difference at all in this deviation in length on a Hardwood Shaft

Same here should be fine..
It always happens to me that if there is the smallest bit of iron on or behide my targets that I will hit it and snap or dent the end of a wooden arrow.....

Nope, wont hurt them at all ,just one will land a qaurter inch short they will work just fine

Usually even with defects our arrows are better than our shooting!
I think we worry too much sometimes. Even a badly matched set can all hit the target well at instinctive distances and sometimes a matched set are not a lot different in terms of accuracy. Why? The weak link is us the archer! Well it is in my case anyway

same here marc. i streightend them and added snake skin wraps to them last night, and went and shot them today, and couldnt hit a 3 foot by 3 foot target from 15 yards . after aobut 15 shots it clicked. i was so exited about my new arrows that i wasnt anchoring in the right place. i calmed down and anchord in my usual place and shot a 4 inch group.

If a quarter-inch of length makes a noticable difference, you're a lot better shot than I am.

thanks hillbilly. i used to be able to hit a gattoraid lid at 15 but i aint shot  in a while. just getting back into the swing of things.
