nudder one
« on: June 17, 2009, 06:59:44 pm »
This is another hickory self bow I did this winter after reading Pappy's article.
It's 62"ntn, 2"fades to mid limb, to 7/16"at the tips, pulls 52# @ 26"(my draw length).
Has 5 or so coats of truoil. Old leather grip. Thanks for looking and all the info on this site.

Nuder nice one ;D
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intentions of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body. But rather to slide in sideways, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming....WOW WHAT A RIDE!!

Nice looking bow with good tiller. If I were to possibly change anything about it, I might would round the grip some to maybe make it a little more comfortable in the hand. That is completely a personal preference though, you may prefer it shaped as it is... ;)

I was thinking the same thing as Gregb.  You have a lot of leeway in rounding the back where the grip is due to the stiff handle.  A couple of minutes with a file and you have a comfortble bow to hold.  Other than that it is a great looking piece of hickory.
