Help with short HHB bow

I've built several HHB longbows in the 66" range and would like to try my hand at a short one. I'm thinking maybe 60"-62".
What would you guys suggest for limb width if I go for this length?

Thats pretty short for a 28 inch draw,but if I was going to try it I would go at least 1 1/2 to 1 5/8
wide at the fads to about mid limb the tapper to 3/8 or so to the tips.I would also probably flip the tip,last 6 inches or so to help with the stacking problem you will get. :) Are you sure you draw 28
most say that but to be honest if you watch people shoot very few really draw that with selfbows.
Just a thought. :)

Thanks Pappy. You make a good point about draw length. Since turning 60, things have started to shrink up.

hey yall im new here but i made a osage bow 54" 57# at 27" draw backed with rawhide and rattlers shoots good a little stack and hand shock but not as bad as i figured it would be.

if you want a bending handle bow, you can go down to 56" or even below, with a good tiller. 1 1/2" width will be enough for this style. you can go pretty far, even unbacked, as I posted here: http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php/topic,13317.0.html

55" ntn, 40#@32". Similar stress as a 47" bow with a 28" draw. These shorties are pretty slow though.
