Yes ,I have used it several times,just be sure it is decreased good before gluing.

i was hoping "deer bone", was meaning cannon bone or something for a takedown!

I don't think the bone would hold up to the forces of a takedown handle design. They split and crack too easily once dry. But, they do make nice overlays, as asked about.
