new osage stave
« on: January 28, 2009, 03:47:54 pm »
I have a question for you concerning a new osage stave I recieved,it is straight for most of its length but the last 2 feet or so takes a pretty good bend,a dog leg I guess and Im wondering how to straighten that much of a bend there.Any help would be greatly appreciated.
, also you have to follow the longitudinal center of the stave, right?.Thanks for any help,Dave.

Yes follow the longitudinal grain and lay out the bow, once you get roughed out and bending just a little you can straighten the dog leg out with dry heat or steam. :)
