Flint from the baltic sea -- Baltic flint

Hello everybody,
 i am new on the board, i come from germany and i try to write correctly but :
sorry about my english  :(
hope you understand what i mean.
Has anybody experience with Baltic flint? is it worth a try to knapp?
or would someone of you want to try?

 If it is black or dark gray it is probally the same flint that is on the beaches of Denmark. It is excellent knappable rock. The Dane's made some beautiful artifacts with it.

i had several pc years ago ,it had some texture changes  and hard spots ,but flint none the less ,i think it was some of the first i ever had.i would call it med to good ,what i had

Ingo,

You said it was flint, so I say YES!  It will most likely work well for knapping.  If it's anything like danish flint, it's probably pretty good.

Ok, i have taken some photos for you.

@ mullet: you are rigth, its black and dark gray but 2 pc are more white (#7 and #9), like dirty snow (no, not yellow  ;D)
it could be the same like the danish, its the same coast.
somebody want to give it a try?

Your English is much better than my German!  It looks to be pretty good quality flint. The chips that were removed appear to be smooth and not grainy. It looks like it would knapp well.  I would like to try some, but am having surgery on my shoulder in a few days and will not be able to knapp for some time afterward.  I am curious to see what anybody makes from it. I will contact you about obtaining some in the future.

    the dark is what my friend Claude and Steve brought back from Denmark. Around $2000 worth.

That's what I was thinking - looks just like this south TX stuff I pick up. Probably works a lot smoother though :). I'd work it for sure - looks like some good stuff. Oh and did I mention I like raw materials pictures? Good luck with it..

 I guarantee it is easier than the Texas stuff, no offence Cowboy. It knaps like super heat treated Texas flint.

I'd love to try some of it, but I bet shipping rocks from Germany would be ungodly expensive?
