Myrtle wood for bows

Anyone ever use murtle wood for bow, I have a big chunk I was gonna get cut into Billets,Smells like camphor

There is a guy on another site and I think I have seen him here...THIMOSABV...he used to post a few bows made of crepe myrtle on the paleoplanet site there were super sweet.  Not sure if it is the same wood you are talking about.

I'm guessing that you are talking about "Oregon myrtle"  also called California Bay.  It has that camphor smell and grows all up and down the west coast.  If so, the same topic has already been discussed and you might check the previous thread(s).  The short answer is yes, you can make decent bows from the stuff.   Ron
