Just can't help myself
just liking the challenges that knotty and/or curvy staves present to you when you're making a bow.
As long as you take the time for it and take a change every now and then to get experienced, there's no need to be afraid of less than perfect staves in my opinion, although its sometimes hard to convince new bowyers of this. Hope this helps a little.
(Some of my wildest bows have outlived beautiful clean bows and give great performance, but OK, some luck might be involved as well
.)
This stave came from a neglected plot of land in an old royal estate near The Hague in the Netherlands.
The bow i made from it is close to 50 lbs at 28 inches and she is 69 inches long.
Hope you like it .
