I was taking the bark off of a persimmon stave and I found this discoloration. What does the discoloration mean? Do I need to scrap this stave?

Russell,  persimmon has a grayish hue to it. I really don't think that will be a problem. If it is I'll send you another stave.

I can lab test this for you. I am afraid, though, if you only send a small sample, that small sample may not be a good representation of the whole stave. I think it best you send me the whole stave and allow me to test it out for you. Ok? Sound good?
