Pecan any good?

Yep, its a good bow wood. Very strong in tension. A friend made one of his first bows from pecan, it has big drawknife gouges on the back, yet shows no sign of degradation. I was amazed that it hadn't broken.

Like the other fellas said it in the hickory family, good for bows.

Years ago Tim Baker won one of the Mojam self bow speed tests with a pecan bow.  Jawge
