I clamp the pieces together and wait about 10 minutes.

I use a belt sander to get rid of most of the excess wood, a half round file works as well, just takes a little more time, the burl wood is extremely hard.

Just off the sander.

I do the next part of the shaping with a half round file.

Ordinarly I use a bur on a dremel for the final shaping and to make a lip for my leather to rest against. This wood is so hard it only wants to burn so I finish up with a file.

A little blending with an orbital sander. I can see a little gap, a little super glue and sawdust will make it invisible.

Roughed out and ready to finish sand, I radious the rest so the arrow only sits in the middle, I radius the sight window to match the rest.

At this point I leave the rest alone until I shoot a few arrows and adjust the rest and sight window for optimum arrow flight. I can go lower on the rest or deeper on the sight window.

It looks like this when finished.
