Eric have you tried just reposting it with a slightly different title?

I don't think you can trademark terms that are pretty much standard useage.  "Gizmo" has been in use since at least WW II as a term to describe a somewhat improvised tool or object.  Don't get on YT that often, so I don't know their thinking process. It is a most helpful object.

The whole thing sounds like a load of baloney. I would insist on getting a full and proper explanation from youtube including, who complained and why. A company or person can trademark a certain word or phrase, but actually trying to enforce it on an item that predates the copyright won't be successful.

YouTube deletes stuff all the time. I'm not sure if anything but putting a lot of pressure on them with awareness works. I would just upload it somewhere else, like Vimeo.

A couple of years ago I started a little push to attach the name Krewson to the gizmo. It has been very significant in helping bow builders and reducing set in bows.

Agree with Badger.. Eric's name should be represented.

I do use my name on my branding iron, I donate a lot of these fancy gizmos to the Trad Gang St Jude auction, I use a variety of figured woods.

that's a beauty!  it's cool that you donate them, although I can't bid on them on that site... :(   The brand looks great!
Seems like common sense isn't very common any more...

I guess the thing I don't understand isn't Tillering Gizmo and Gizmo tewo different things? I couldn't read the fine print on Pats link, but who would trademark Tillering Gizmo unless they were trying to steal his idea? Eric is the guy that deserves the credit for a very helpful tool.
