Tiller for a short short draw length?
« on: January 13, 2019, 11:14:01 am »
Starting on an Osage stave to end up with 35-40# @ 24" draw length.  Question is how far to tiller, I have about 61" to work with for bow length.  Is it best to stop tillering when I reach draw weight at 24", or continue out to draw weight at 28" standard?  I really don't want some dude to overdraw it when it is finished, including me!  Thanks for the input.

It will perform much better if you stop at 24"

Thanks for the input!  I hope to get it roughed out this week.  Might have to go to about 58" +/- to get past some twist, but Jacie is only 4'7", so It should work ok.
