Any reason not to use these together in same string?

I wouldn't purposely do it as you wouldn't want one stretching more than the other (more vibration, more stress on one string than the other), but if they are close in stretch I'm sure you wouldn't notice a difference. I'm not familiar with D10.

If you just have a few odds and sods you're trying to use up you can soak them in Xylene to dissolve the wax and use them for wrapping on arrows. Wrap them on with a drop of CA. Xylene takes off wax like nothing I've seen.

I haven't done it first hand , But the stretch difference would concern me ,I have made endless loop strings with the same type string where I didn't get them stretch in proper and they where noisy and vibration from not all the strings stretching the same plus if they stretch differently you won't get combined strength of both strings.

You could do three strands per bundle of the one with the least stretch to take the strain and use the others as a filler. I’ve done that with D97 and B50. Mostly just from being cheap and wanting to use up the B50. Bow I’ve just settled onto using just d97 or d10 and feel no difference.

I have with no problems at all. Sometimes I cant get the color combo I want with one, so I mix them. Folks have a tendency to make this much more scientific than it truly is. I could make a 10 strand D97 and a 10 strand D97/FF mix and nobody would ever know which is which.

I've done it before with no problems but I try to use D-97 by itself because it seems to be slightly larger diameter compared to other no stretch material. I mix FF, 452, 8190, 8125, and BCYX all the time.

I like the feel of linen strings but the durability of modern low stretch. I will very often use 6 strands of 6 strand linen with 4 strands of white d-97 just for the strength. Never had a problem or strange behavior because of it.

Mr. Art Butner used to mix B50 and D97, I have a bow from him with a blended string on it. He claimed the B50 made the string softer and therefore more quiet. But, he made 16 strand strings. So the 8 strands of D97 was plenty for nearly any bow and it obviously took the lions share of the work away from the B50. I miss Artsy fartsy and often wonder where he is or if he is anymore.
