Thanks Mullet
« on: April 22, 2018, 09:48:46 am »
Spent a good afternoon w Eddie talking flint knapping and breaking stone. He salvaged a hunk of Georgetown i was stuck on and was able to complete one honest arrowhead. Great to hangout, sorry I missed you Bonepile. Let's do it again after the heat breaks a bit.

I'll try to add some pics tomorrow.  P

It was a pleasure, Paul. You got me motivated to do some knapping. It was nice to beat on rock with some good conversation and not deal with work. Thanks for the Georgetown cobble. I've been wanting to make a chopper since I watched James parker do it last year.

Eddie aka Mullet gifted me a real nice piece of flint ridge material when I visited him the other day and against my better judgement I tried picking at it.  But I actually made a real life preform with an annoying hump on one side.  Of course I couldn't let it be so I thought-one more crack with the copper bopper that Parnell gifted me.  and now I have 2 and half functional arrow points that are nothing like the large single point I had before I took one more shot at the hump.  :-(

I have the second half of the material to still work with.  I will day dream on it a while before picking it up and busting it up too.

Thanks Eddie and Parnell!

Paul

Remember, you have to know when to put the bopper down and pick up the pressure flaker. ;)
