Haha exactly what I did. I was going thick to thin and my last ring I went from thin to the thick and had no problem.

Looks like you have already decided on your dimensions. I was going to vote for 66, or even 67 if that is an option. I used to make a lot of short bows, but over the years have gravitated towards longer and longer designs. Today I prefer a bow that is about as long as I am tall. I am 67 inches tall, so that is about where most of my bows end up.

I ended up with 66, the stave total was just shy of 67. Figure I can cut it down if I miss my goal weight haha!

If they’re too long won’t they be less efficient at a certain draw? I’m going for a slightly overbuilt safe bow, but don’t want a bunch of mass that’s more harm than good.

Won’t be able to work on it till Monday so she sits at floor tiller stage.

66” NTN and using a 66” string as a “long string”. Took her to 20” and she’s at 35#s. Feeling good about getting 55.

 Think I might steam it to align the tips and I feel I have to fix this twist. Should I do that now or tiller more?

Also she lost her couple inches of reflex while spending a couple hours tillering to here but after sweeping and clean up she’d Gained an inch back.
