Bow Backing tape ?

I hope someone can point me in the right direction here !
I am thinking of buying one of Dave Meades Bamboo Horse bow kits (self assembly ) . Considering the limbs are Bamboo sections only , I was thinking of backing it with " Gorilla Camo Tape " Mossy Oak pattern which is supposed to be real quality tape ! question is , after applying this tape to the back of the bamboo , do you think there will be any adverse affects to the actual firing capabilities of the bow , ie slowing the speed etc ? Or will it add to the overall strength of the bow ?

About the only thing I can see it doing is to add mass and slow it down. By comparison to the amount of stretch the back of the bow already has, the tape will be like putting a rubber band on it. It'll just stretch like it's not there and won't add any loading to the limbs. If the tape is for camo effect, I'd do a staining job in the bamboo. You should get a mottled look from the dofference in how the nodes and internodes will absorb the stain. That and just use a dull finish and wildlife won't see it anyway. From what iv noticed, pattern effects visibility less that what sheen does. Glossy is a spotlight, dull is invisible.
