I'm on Pender island. I couldn't imagine hollowing out a seasoned is stave haha I think green would be easier for sure, but then there is the handle dilemma. Maybe rough it out and then cut the handle off, but kind of cut it like one of dels long scoop patches. Then it might not pop back off when glued back together after drying? Haha thinking out loud.
