short honeysuckle

I found this small and nice bush while wandering in the woods near a lake few months ago. Still I'm not sure of the specific variety but going to find it out in few months once they starts to flower. It feels heavy and stiff wood and it has nice heartwood-sapwood color difference. As it is very short and small diameter stave, I reinforced the back side with a slight sinew crown and also wrapped the knots at most bending parts. I colored the sinew with soil and then polished the belly.

40" long, 1" wide and pulls 40 pounds at 19" draw, total weight 213 grams. Tips are naturally slightly flipped and it has taken very small amount of set.

Fly honeysuckle grows naturally here in Finland but I guess it is not that. Maybe Tatarian honeysuckle or maybe not. What do you think? There's a bark pic included for possible identifying.

Sweet little bow.Like the look of that pith running down the center.I've got that honeysuckle growing here but never anything as long as that workable.

I didn't know there are different varities of honeysuckle. Plus, I thought it was a vine so I never considered it as a bow wood. I guess I'll have to take a better look at those plants behind my shed and  the pond. Thanks for the info.

Looks like the Amur honeysuckle I use try to get some picks of the leaves and flowers when they're out, don't expect the heart/sap wood contrast very often most of the time it's just a plain off white color and also you need to be carful about checking this time of year if you leave it in the round.

Nice little bow, I haven't found a piece of honey suckle big and nice enough to cut yet.
