Help!,, 😰😥😢!  Anybody know the secret codes to post pics via  Imgur.  Especially the url for the message board and how to resize the pics.  Thanks,
Hawkdancer

Now you should see your image and, after a few seconds, be able to right click it and copy the address.

Then you can paste it somewhere and surround it with
Code: [Select]
[img] tags, such as
Code: [Select]
[img]https://i.imgur.com/gjSrEcd.png[/img]
If the address ends up looking like:
Code: [Select]
https://i.imgur.com/undefined.png
then you have to right click and copy the address again.. it doesn't seem to generate the proper address for the image right away. Sometimes the address will look longer:
Code: [Select]
blob:https://imgur.com/488acd9c-ca58-4e75-a3ed-e06f5568ff89 that won't work either. Whatever, just wait a few seconds before right click and copy image address.

Don't think there's a need to resize. The forums make large images smaller (and clickable to get bigger) automatically.

But if you want to be nice to people's internet connections, you can always put an h (stands for "huge" but isn't that huge") right before the .png or .jpg extension, like so:

Code: [Select]
[img]https://i.imgur.com/gjSrEcdh.png[/img]
versus
[img]https://i.imgur.com/gjSrEcd.png[/img]

They used to have buttons to do that, but they removed them...

Hope that helps and that it's not too annoying to use. At least it doesn't require an account..

I got to the point of selecting the pictures, I think, but don't have the url for this message board.  The extinct buttons would help.  We can't find any instructions on the imgur home page, they got to be somewhere.  Thanks, we're getting closer!

Once you see the pictures on imgur, just right click and choose copy image address, open image in new tab, something like that. What browser are you using?

The image address you need looks something like

Code: [Select]
https://i.imgur.com/gjSrEcd.png

I use Imgur those brackets above with the img and the /img  that loon talks about are the ticket. Just copy and past your image and put those brackets and img like loon said and you will be all set

We are using iPads 3, with Safari as the browser and Google as the main search engine.  No right click button, no mouse😀  Jesus dummies at the controls!

The way I use imgur doesn't require multiple mouse buttons.  After I post my pictures, I go to my pictures by using the "Images" menu under your user name in the upper right hand corner like this:

Then I get the different options on how to post a link to my pictures on different sites.  For PA, I use the "BBCode" link (just highlight, use your preferred method to copy the link, then paste it in your message):

The copied address will look like this: [img]http://i.imgur.com/O1dmwe4.jpg[/img   (with an added ] at the very end).

Hope this helps!

I have an I phone and it should be the same, if you are using the app to upload the way I do it is: step 1 search for my user name then a list of pics I uploaded comes up. Step 2 click on image. That brings up the post. Step 3 click on the image again. The image should move to the center of the screen and have an up arrow at the bottom. Step 4 click that arrow you will see a menu come up that has some options. Step 5 choose "copy link" . Step 6 go to the post you wish to post image in and hold down your finger on the screen until some options come up and choose paste. A link similar to this will appear https://i.imgur.com/1omzXwg.jpg . In order to make that link a picture you have to put a code around it. Step 7 install code around it. The code is with out spaces but to display it so you can read it it I have to use spaces [ i m g ] https://i.imgur.com/1omzXwg.jpg [ / i m g ] . Step 8 your done. If you are using safari. Step 1 find your image. Step2 hold your finger down on it until some options come up. Step three choose copy. Step 4 go to step 6 from before and continue on. Remember there should be NO spaces from the first bracket to the last. If you need any help with this just ask, we will get this solved. I am sorry I didn't post step by step pics but I am just about out of data for the month so I hope this is sufficient. If you need visuals I can always go down to the library and use there wifi, but hopefully that won't be necessary.

Hawkdancer, glad that you finally got your pictures figured out and successfully posted, and want to  really thank you for helping me make a decision, At  present I have a 10 yr old at least flip phone and have been thinking about when it dies. I have positively decided I will never own a smart phone after seeing the list of instruction to post a photo, I thought technology was supposed to simply things, Seems to me just take your camera take a picture and put it on your computer and send to website is plenty complicated enough.  Thanks for helping me with a decision and thanks for going to all that effort to post the pics. Hope you can use the goods and if not use them to trade up for a good flip phone ;D no text , no pics just a phone :o ;D ;D Later Bob

I will be looking forward to working the rock - there will be a relearning curve there.  I am planning on working the arrow shafts as soon as my thumb is out of the cast.  Might be able to scrape and smooth with one good hand in the meantime though.
Thanks
Hawkdancer
