Knapping saved me some time.

I went fishing at a new place yesterday. I am always happy to catch anything that wants to donate a fight. There are Northern Pike at the place I went, so I bought some new braided line. I have used braided line in the past, and am not a huge fan. It doesn't cast as well, and has the tendency to knot up at the most in opportune times. I had walked over the dam and was fishing an outlet, I caught one Large Mouth, and figured that it was a good enough spot to cast a few more times. And the the knot happened. I went to my belt and realized that I didn't have one, and thus, I didn't have a knife to cut the line (You really can't chew through braided line). Next best thing, I grabbed a rock that looked like I could make a quick strike, and a hammer stone, and knocked off a few flakes, and had me a knife! Primitive technology saved me from walking back up the treacherous path to get my knife, and then back down to trow a few more casts.

When I first came to Virginia I was desperate for work. >:(
I took pictures of canoers on the rapids in the river.
A helper dirt biked the film to a car that he took it to
the 1 hour photo shop.
The film was developed so that we could post and sell
the photos when the folks got back from their canoe trip. :)
We also guided fishermen from the city during the week.
Any way Danny wanted to learn how to find and make
arrowheads. So I got him started. Luckily.
One day he anchored just above the rapids but the anchor
slipped and then caught in the rift. It jerked and twisted
the canoe so bad that he fell out. The customer is still
in the canoe with all his gear, taking on water, he can't swim
and he is screaming. :o
Danny's knife is in the boat. So he is bustin rocks
as he runs up the shore line. When he has the right one
he dives in swims to the anchor rope and cuts it.
Holding on, he rides the rapid with the righted canoe and
the relieved fisherman.  :) Well anyway Danny swears it's true. >:D
