Couple blades I'm working on.
« on: September 26, 2016, 06:57:06 pm »
I was setup at a local event this weekend and had time to work on some blades. I worked the core out of a large Georgetown nodule and then decided to finish it at a later time. I was afraid distraction would cause a mis strike so I set it aside.

The dagger is from a chunk of obsidian and needs a little rework before it's finished.

Sound wisdom Scott, I have a hard time finishing up points when at events, better to make preforms and continue explaning the process over and over. Nice lookin set of blades. Bob

Nice looking blades. I never paid too much attention to stone points and knives until I seen your work at Marshall. Now one is on my wish list. Impressive work.

Yep, it happens a lot for me. I'll be tripping along and paying about half attention to what I'm doing when SNAP! Not a big deal if the point is small or out of cheap material. But when they are long and purty, it stings a little.

Thanks Jo, I sat down yesterday and adjusted the look on the obsidian dagger. It looks a lot better now. Maybe I can get a new picture posted this afternoon.
