« on: September 18, 2016, 08:56:41 pm »
This weekend in our town next door here they had a cool banging smoking reenactment battle. They were all camped out in the state park.
I just called this guy Abe.

A couple pics of the battle.

Oh they had a half dozen cannons too.Pretty jarring noise if too close to them.

Cool stuff Ed, we do the same thing in May

I'll be participating in a living history event at Lecompton Ks. this week. It's not just the War between the States stuff but we do have a guy with a cannon.  ;D
Our group has been doing this event for 13 years now. It's mostly for school kids but we do get some public in on Saturday. I'm the old tools and "Archery Guy'.

Yes...In the past during and through the 80's and into the 90's I used to buckskin rendezvous.1820 to 1840 period reenactment camps and activities.Mostly for the educational value for younger people like you said.Always fun to get in the smell of camp fire smoke.Gun powder too....lol.
