Processing Sinew!?

Hello fellow bowyers and archers,

This is my first time processing sinew (this is cow sinew)
I've had the sinew drying for about a week and 2 days,
Got the smallest piece I had (that looked dry) and pounded it until I had nice fine strands and completed the process by pulling them away from each other.

My question is:

Is this sinew processed well enough?
Should I make the strands finer and thinner?

That looks pretty good, Isaia. Maybe shred some of the wider strands a little more.

If it's beef sinew I'd wash it again with a detergent after you get it all separated. Beef tends to be a little more greasey.

Alright Eddie , but it doesn't feel greasy at all !?
Would the grease ruin the sinew? Please let me know 😊

Yes, grease will prevent the glue from sticking. When sinew backing a bow I first wash the sinew and bow back with detergent(I use Dawn Dish detergent)and rinse the sinew with warm water and the bow's back with boiling water just before I glue the sinew down to the bow.
