Voice feather
« on: May 31, 2016, 03:03:46 pm »
While at Marshall Steve (one of the vendors) invited me to knap with him. I had been admiring his beautiful display and notice a turkey tail feather with all but the last 3" of vein removed. It was hanging from a lance. I wondered about it and asked it it was a call or just decoration. He told me it was a voice feather, and was used at pow wow. Who ever held it was the only one that could talk. I thought what a great idea it would be if we could do that with our politicians, maybe not give them any feather at all.

I like the concept Marc. It may have been called talk feather also I can't remember exact name he used for sure. A stick would be even better if some one interrupted you while you were talking you could give them a swat. Lol interesting parliamentary procedure.
