My first bow

At last I finally (sorta) finished my first bow. I can tell it needs some more work, but it's almost done. It's bush honeysuckle which I have read makes a decent bow. It's approximately 52" nock to nock and it has a natural deflex in it when unstrung. I've drawn it over a dozen times and so far it's holding up. I just need to make a proper string for it after I get some stringmaker's wax. To top it all off, I've got some honeysuckle arrow shafts to go with it.

It's been a satisfying learning experience for me.

Looks good for a number one. You're right it does need a little work. I think you got a little bit of a hinge working, about mid top limb. Doing good so far, be patient. I'm sure others will chime in with some input. Welcome to PA.

Good first attempt so far...im sure you learned a lot from it...try and fix the tiller on it as best ya can,and then go make another!!!  ;)

The bottom limb looks really good. If you could get that top limb area from the fade and up about a foot bending a bit more I think you will have it.

Nice 1st bow but it does need to bend more off the upper handle putting a lot of stress on that hinge area. Might have to lose some draw wieght but it will probably save your bow.

Don't let the side view fool you though, it's oddly shaped, but I got the nocks lined up best I could.



I ordered a bow scale so I could find out what the draw weight is, but it feels like it's 50-55# at about 26in draw. Maybe less than that.
