Has anyone tried to fume white wood? I'm finishing up a nice hackberry and debating how to color the wood. Any experiences you have had are welcome. Thanks! Don

It all depends on the tannin content of the wood. The OS in that link turned that dark in 48 hours but I've had a piece of Douglas maple testing for a week and at best its a light grey. Like the Wiz says try a test piece. This is my test tank
There is about a half inch of "Sudsy Ammonia" in it.
