Cat n Raven
« on: October 23, 2015, 06:23:02 am »
Jamie (Ravenbeak) was over in the UK doing some bow making workshops, visiting the Mary Rose museum, the Tower of London and going to a shoot in the middle of London!
He wanted to meet up, and as I'm conveniently close to London it all worked out nicely with him staying overnight. We had a good play with some of my weird bows, and we introduced him to custard! Running him back to the station this morning I showed him some of the local Hazel and Yew trees. It was great to spend time chatting to a fellow bowyer. My mate JT (Heffalump) dropped in with some warbows including the heaviest I've made (130#).
Got to sample my home made cider and plum wine too :)
A great visit. The pic shows us in front of the Yew tree in my back garden looking at my two latest bows. A 70# Yew ELB and a 40# Yew Molle'

Cat and Crow, sounds like a good name for a pub.  :D  It's always good when brothers of the bow can meet. The "pond" ain't all that big anymore.

Gosh you guys look like twins. Just that one was born before the other. :)
No really,
check photos of the more mature fellow when he was the same age
as the more youthful fellow. ;)
What I really wanted to say before I was distracted by the similarities
is "It's great when a plan comes together" it's what memories are made off.

Two fine gennelmens!
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

That's dynamite, Del.  Someday, I'll get over there again.  I'd ask you to teach my nephew...

Hi Del,

Thanks for posting the photo.

It was great to get a chance to meet up and I greatly appreciate the hospitality.

It was a pleasure to see your works in progress and I thoroughly enjoyed the repeating crossbow!

The trip to see the big old yews was lovely as well

We had a great shoot at windsor and finsbury,  and now just heading for the plane home.

all the best to you

Jamie
